Interpersonal Reflection
I have chosen to analyze my relationship with my best friend, Sarah. Sarah and I have been
best friends for about five years. We met in our sophomore year of high school and instantly hit it
off. We bonded over our love of books and movies and our sense of humor. We could talk for
hours about anything and everything.
Sarah is the polar opposite of me in many ways. She is extroverted and friendly, while I
am introverted and reserved. Sarah constantly pushes herself to be more than she is and do things
she isn’t necessarily interested in. She has a huge heart and is always looking out for the well-being
of others.
One of the quotes from our textbook that I think applies to my relationship with Sarah is,
“People are not all the same, but they can all be connected” (Costello, 1959). This quote resonates
with me because it is so true in our relationship. We are both very different people, but we share
so many commonalities. We support each other and help each other grow. I am so lucky to have
such a great friend as Sarah.
Our relationship is based on mutual respect and support. We enjoy spending time together,
whether talking about books or movies, going out for lunch, or just hanging out at home watching
TV. Our bond is strong, and we are always there for each other when needed.
