chemical reactions lab report
WAMAP – Chemistry&121 ~ Fall 202211/9/22, 1:48 PM
Exp. 4: Chemical Reactions
The pre-lab will be collected together with the lab report pages, as file
uploads of the images. Observations for the reactions can be made
from the linked photos and videos below. Recall that we considered
the reaction of HCl and NaOH in the Heat and Energy lab, and found
that the test tube gets warmer. (Lab 3 Part C: Watch the video and
record your observation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?

The Chemical Reactions lab requires mainly naming of compounds,
and the ability to form ionic compounds, in order to write the
reactions. All the information you need is in the manual, and you can
refer to the text book for more background. Be sure to read the
introduction material, which is fairly long.
Some videos below are from our own labs at Seattle Central, just
taking video for fun. It turns out, they helped us transition to online! I
now have some better produced resources as well. Use these to take
your observations. (Original videos from Seattle Central labs are
bulleted below.)

Due Wed 11/9/22, 11:55 pm
Please upload your Chemical Reactions Lab Report (pages 57 – 64)
here. You may like to try the app CamScanner to create a single file
out of smartphone photos. If you need multiple file uploads, please use
the questions here to enter them.
Exp. 5: Stoichiometry, Analysis of a Household Product
Chemical Reactions: Upload images of the Lab Report Pages.
Make sure you understand the overall picture before you come to lab.
In Part A you will determine the mole mole relationship between your
starting material, sodium bicarbonate (“sodium hydrogen carbonate”)
and the product, CO2 gas. Once you know this relationship from Part
A, you will use that known relationship to analyze the amount of
sodium bicarbonate in an antacid. (The label claims 1.916 g NaHCO3
per tablet.) Check with me before you move onto Part B so I can
make sure you have the correct reaction!
Below I show a diagram of how to arrange your reactants so you can
