DISC AND TEMPLATE

AssessmentDescription

Review the terms Stratified Sampling, Cluster Sampling, Random Sampling, and Systematic Sampling from “The Visual Learner: Statistics,” located in the Topic 2 Resources.

Forthis question you are divided into groups based on your last name.Identify your given sampling method using the first letter of your lastname.

  • A-F – Stratified Sampling
  • G-L – Cluster Sampling
  • M-R – Random Sampling
  • S-Z – Systematic Sampling

Use the assigned sampling method to answer the following question:

Imaginethat you are conducting a patient satisfaction survey at your healthcare facility. How would the assigned sampling method be applied in thiscase? What are the strengths and weakness of the assigned samplingmethod in this scenario?Initial discussion question posts should be a minimum of 200 words and include at least two references cited using APA format. DISC 2Watch three videos (“Measure of Center ‘Mean,'” “Measure of Center’Median,'” and “Measure of Center ‘Mode'”) in the Calculations sectionof “The Visual Learner: Statistics,” located in the Topic 2 Resources. Goto the Random.org website, provided in the Topic 2 Resources, togenerate a set of random numbers. Click on the “Get Sets’ link at thebottom left of the page to generate some data. (Note: If you are notable to access the link, you can randomly generate 10 numbers yourselffor this calculation.)Imagine these numbers are the caresatisfaction scores from a recent sample of discharged patients.Randomly select one row of numbers to use for the followingcalculations:

  • What was the mean?
  • What was the median?
  • What was/were the mode/s?
  • Giventhat the range of data was between 1 and 20, what do these numbers tellyou about the overall satisfaction of the patients?

  • If you were reporting these scores back to your supervisor, how would you explain or interpret these satisfaction scores?
  • Initial discussion question posts should be a minimum of 200 words and include at least two references cited using APA formatDesignan experiment with one independent variable (with at least two levels)and one dependent variable. Additionally, what levels of measurementwould you use when collecting your data?Example:XYZ hospital wanted to increase compliance of staff using handsanitizer after every interaction with a patient. In order to gaincompliance, they set up a buzzer when staff exited the patient’s room. For the treatment group, a buzzer would ring for 1 second after exitingthe room unless staff had pressed the hand sanitizer lever. The controlgroup did not have the buzzer activated, so no sound would emit whenexiting the patient’s room.

Independent Variable: Presence of a buzzer sound or not.

Dependent Variable: Number of times the hand sanitizer lever was pressed.

    Level of Measurement: Ratio

In your responses to other students, identify a strength or weakness of another student’s example design.
