Notes:
barium hydroxide (Ba(OH)2) is normally considered soluble but under the conditions of this experiment
it forms a white soluble precipitate.
Iodate (IO3-) ions are not included in the simple solubility rules, but when mixed with barium ions forms
an insoluble precipitate of barium iodate (Ba(IO3)2).

For the report
Transcribe the data onto the report sheets from the lab manual.
Instead of calculations write the molecular, complete ionic, and net ionic equations for all the
precipitation reactions of the knowns. Also write the molecular equations for the acid-base reactions of
the soluble precipitates with acetic acid.
For the discussion explain in detail how you deduce what each of the unknowns are. Make sure to list
them on the report sheet and mention them in the conclusion.
