Philosophy

Final paper (4-6 pages) that explicates a philosophical view and that has a thesis. The final paper (4-6 pages, typed double space, 1000 words min) must identify a film (not one on the syllabus) that expresses a philosophical position (or that illustrates a point about film made in one of the assigned readings from the first half of the semester.) The paper must explain the philosophical isssue, how that issue is raised by the film and the philosophical stance the film takes on that issue.The films you cannot use are “The Grand Illusion,” Renoir, “Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams”, “The Shining,” Kubrick, “The Babadook,” Kent, “The Sea Inside,” Amenabar, “Blade Runner: Director’s Cut,” Scott , “Ex Machina,” Garland, “Memento,” Nolan, “Get Out,” Peele, “Do the Right Thing,” Lee, “Jacob’s Ladder,” Lyne, “The Seventh Seal,” Bergman, “Ikiru” Kurosawa, “The Iron Giant,” Bird, “A Serious Man,” Coen and Coen, “The Thin Red Line,” Malick, and last My Neighbor Totoro. We are not allowed to write about any of the films stated above. I was thinking about using the film Inception or Interstellar directed by Christopher Nolan. However, I am willing to let you decide. Once you accept this paper can you please message me and let me know what film you would like to write about. I will also give a generous tip up to 50% or even 100% or more if the paper comes out Great. I have uploaded several articles to use for citations which some of them must be used but it’s ok to add other citations you find but please make sure they are credible. The first pdf is about how to write for a philosophy paper. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out. It also might be a good idea to talk about certain scenes in whichever film you choose when making a point.
