Reflection Assignment

Choose a Documentary that is relevant to this class and watch it. I have included a list of suggestions, though you are welcome to choose something not on the list- if you can connect to topics we have discussed in class. 

Civic 101 Extra Credit Opportunity

Worth up to 5 points on your final grade-the amount of points will depend on the quality of the work you turn in.

Turn in on Blackboard- under assignments – by the start of our final class

1. Choose a Documentary that is relevant to this class and watch it. I have included a list of suggestions, though you are welcome to choose something not on the list- if you can connect to topics we have discussed in class.

2. Write a 1-2 page reflection on that documentary

a. The Reflection should do the following things

i. The reflection must make it clear that you have watched the documentary- provide specific information and details that help show this

ii. It should provide a summary of the documentary and why you chose it

iii. It must connect the topic of the documentary to the class utilizing topics that we have discussed in class or in course articles

iv. It must show your personal reflection on the topic – any thoughts, emotions, conclusions, etc. that you have

b. Tips

i. A good approach would be to utilize the reflection model D.I.E (Describe, Interpret, Evaluate)

ii. Highlight if you learned anything that surprised you, made you feel a certain way, made you want to make a change, join a movement, etc

c. Format

i. Flexible. I do not have a preference on format as long as it is clear, easy to read, and understandable

ii. Please keep it between 1-2 pages
