Please use the 5th edition, note that each edition contains some different material and chapters.
Note that launchpad is not required or expected for this class.
Chapter 11,12,13
Ensure that you describe ONLY the incident in the first question. For the second question relate the
incident you have described to a particular idea in the assigned chapters. Do not list only the terms or
concepts and page numbers nor just summarize the chapters with bullet points. The purpose is not
just for you to describe the personal incident but to relate it to an idea in the book chapters.
Ensure that you provide robust answers and not short phrases for each question.
To answer question 3, “Formulating chapters + case studies”, make sure that you read one of the case
studies at the end of the chapters assigned for the week and reflect on what you learned about
interpersonal communication.
It is not compulsory that you write on all three chapters assigned for each week. You can choose to
write on one chapter. The intellectual thoughts you share to explain your understanding of the
concepts on interpersonal communication is what I require.
Paper Requirements
A reflective journal must be written for all three chapters assigned for each week. It must be black, 12
font size, double-spaced, and typed using the following labels for the 4 parts in the journal. It is expected
that you provide DETAILED AND INDEPTH responses to the questions for chapters assigned for the
week. Single sentences are not acceptable. The paper must be submitted by the due date indicated on
your schedule/calendar unless this instructor makes changes.
Grading Rubric: 5 points –
– 1 point Adhered to the task format
– 1 points description of the incident
– 1 point relate idea from each chapter
– 1 point what was learned about interpersonal communication
– 1 point about how you plan to use this
Description of the incident
Explicitly describe an incident that has happened to you that relates to an idea from the chapters where
you learned something about interpersonal communication. Keep an open mind and use instances
you’ve had with significant others, roommates, siblings, parents, co-workers, strangers, teammates,
peers in class, etc.
Identify each chapter idea
Include the terms or concepts, and include the page number
Formulating chapters + case studies
Description of what was learned about interpersonal communication from the book chapters cohesively
using one of the case studies.
Future
Practically apply the knowledge learned in the chapters to your future self. Explain how you plan to use
it in your interaction with others.
