Sense Perception

Purpose: The purpose of this assignment is to encourage self-reflection and critical thinking. Attention is the cognitive process to choose and concentrate on relevant stimuli. This cognitive ability is very important and is an essential function in our daily lives. Think about a time when you failed to notice something around you because your attention was focused elsewhere. If someone pointed it out, were you surprised that you hadn’t noticed it right away? -Identify which of the senses from this chapter you believe you most often neglect. Provide examples of your experiences. -Explain how selection, organization and the interpretative process of perception are involved when you neglect a specific sense. In which way does each factor play a role in how you perceive an experience when that sense is being neglected.
