When it comes to the Incident Command Structure it can be used in a variety of
different incidents/events. For example, we can use ICS to set up a county fair and plan
accordingly to what we will need. When we think of a county fair it’s a big public event
that many people attend there are a lot of activities in a set area including rides, game
stands, and food stands. With a large group of people attending this event, we have to
formulate a plan to keep everyone safe. At a county fair, we should have a designated
location for a first aid area to deal with minor injuries if they occur. Next, we should
have some police officers around the perimeter to watch over things and also deal with
the traffic flow. Lastly, if there were a fire that broke out we could call the fire
department.
That’s just a basic overview of how we can use the Incident Command System we could
go more in-depth talking about the talking about the geographical location of the fair
to determine what other resources are around us that we can use if anything were to
happen at this fair. We could also talk about the organization that is running the fair
and go through the parts of ICS that they used to put together this event and the
resources that they could need to make this event run efficiently. This system can be
used as a basic foundation for any event that someone wants to put together and it
makes it easier to monitor everything.
