Overview: Communication comes in many forms: verbal, nonverbal, and written. In this milestone, you will address communication by creating a visual
communication bulletin.
Prompt: Develop a visual communication bulletin (a one-sided, 8.5 x 11 flier suitable for reduction and/or digital sharing and capable of being shared via digital
and new media formats) in an effort to create awareness and engage disinterested parties to a public issue via one of the provided scenarios. Review module
resources and online examples of strategic best practices by contemporary communicators.

minority, and low-income citizens.
Nonprofit/Political: Rock the Vote (rockthevote.com): Promote voting to disinterested millennials in efforts to mobilize and serve as an advocate for the
electoral process and voting system.
Nonprofit/Health Care Issue: Planned Parenthood (plannedparenthood.org): Create awareness for STDs in an effort to create awareness and protect
sexually-active, disinterested teens.
Nonprofit/Societal Issue: The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy (thenationalcampaign.org): Promote awareness for

attitudes and create policies and laws to help achieve full equality for people who are LGBTQ.
Nonprofit/Military: Wounded Warrior Project (woundedwarriorproject.org): Create interest through awareness in an effort to enlist the public’s aid for
the needs of injured service members.
Choose one of the scenarios and be sure you address the following critical elements:
 Describe how the message in your bulletin strategically communicates with its identified audience.
 How does your communication engage diverse parties?
 Describe how the structure of your bulletin aligns to new media standards.
Note: Although you may reference online sources pertaining to your chosen non-profit and cite and reference content appropriately, the submission content
should not be copied and pasted from online sources. This assignment is an opportunity for you to reference the online sources, curate, and cite any
information gained from online sources, but is also an opportunity for you to be creative and create a new and exciting direction for your chosen non-profit.
Guidelines for Submission: The bulletin must address the practice of contemporary communication and proper mass media format and be double-spaced with
12-point Times New Roman font and one-inch margins. Use APA style for citations.
