Analyze Movie
“Everybody’s Fine” (2009) played by Robert De Niro, is the remade of an Italian movie called “ Stanno Tutti Bene” which was produced by Giuseppi Tornatore in 1992. The American setting on the movie (played by De Niro) was nominated by ARRP as the best intergenerational movie in 2010. In this movie, De Niro wants to believe that “everybody’s fine,” and that his children love him and respect him. Unfortunately, he learns that his children are unhappy, unfulfilled, and resent his abusiveness and unrealistic expectations as a father. However, unlike with his children, he seems to be able to establish unity in relationships with his grandchildren, and he warns one of them not to make the mistakes he made in child rearing. Please watch the film and write up your reaction.
