SCENARIO:

As Communications Director for Acquisitions Incorporated, a national holdings and acquisitions company, it is your responsibility to send an e-mail to all department heads informing them of the date, time, and location for this month’s department head meeting. These meetings are normally held on the last Friday of every month, and they usually last about two hours.

You should also include a brief listing of the issues to be addressed. The agenda for this month’s meeting is as follows: voting on the new vacation policy, electing a media spokesperson, and introducing the new Director of Risk Assessment, Patrick Rothfuss.

You may find it helpful to use bullet points to organize your agenda for this exercise. Be sure to provide a context for participants to RSVP as well as to ask any questions before the meeting.
