Which theory or model is guiding your study? You can incorporate theories and models discussed in class or theories and models not discussed in class. At a minimum, you must incorporate at least one theory or model.3). Define the key concepts or terms relevant to your paper. Explain your theory or model’s main logic.4). What are your hypotheses and research questions? Hypotheses predict a relationship between two or more variables. Research questions ask whether or not a relationship exists between two or more variables, or ask what themes will emerge from open-ended data. The hypotheses and research questions should logically follow from your review of theories, models, concepts, and past research findings. Therefore, the literature review should be an ARGUMENT leading up to the hypotheses or research questions. APA format requires a title page and full references list, which you need to include for this paper. Although abstracts are also required for APA papers, you do not need to include an abstract for this paper.The paper must incorporate a minimum of six scholarly sources. Scholarly sources include peer-reviewed journal articles, handbook chapters, chapters in books written by professors, and encyclopedia entries. Scholarly sources do not include articles on popular press websites. You can use course readings as supplemental sources, but course readings do not count toward the minimum of six outside scholarly sources. Please do not cite class lecture in the proposal. If certain content appears in lecture that you want to incorporate, look for the same idea in a course reading or an outside article.It is almost always better to paraphrase content from academic sources rather than quoting directly. Paraphrasing content will improve the flow of your writing.
