Many scholars have examined the varied reasons why people practice discrimination and hold prejudicial views towards others.

1. Describe two major historical events that have occurred within the last decade that highlight the type of discrimination used and/or how prejudicial views influenced the event.

2. Write a statement that demonstrates how prejudice has influenced the particular event, idea, or policy. For example, the Jim Crow laws in the south used by southern governments in the 1950s and 60s enacted and enforced laws that prohibited blacks from interacting with whites at all levels (separate schools, drinking fountains, movie theaters etc.)
