review the following two options below, and decide what project will be best in terms of your interests, schedules, and inspirations. Please keep in mind that the final project’s work must be shared equitably, and you will need to submit a worksheet that breaks down what contributions each team member made to the production.

Option One: Documentary (3-5 minutes in length)

Produce a documentary that either:

Projects should be outlined in advance with a detailed plan of action, including a shot list and a tentative list of interview questions.  Strive to find an engaging subject.  In conceiving your project, consider how the various modes of documentary we explored in class will inform your approach.Make use of both sound and image to help us understand your subject.  Soundtracks should use layered audio, and may include interviews, voice over, direct sound, environmental sound, sound fx, and music.  Music should not be the primary element of the soundtrack (and must not cover more than 50% of the final piece).  Compositions and camera movement should feel motivated, purposeful, and controlled.  Projects must be non-fiction (no “mockumentaries”). • Pre-production materials for this option can include a production schedule, an outline or treatment for your project, tentative interview questions, and a shot-list or storyboard (if applicable).Option Two: Narrative (2-4 minutes in length)Produce a narrative video with a story inspired by one of the following words:Growth            Danger              Secret              New               Hope               CuriosityProjects should be scripted and storyboarded in advance, make use of a variety of shot sizes and camera angles, and include at least five of the following techniques examined in class:
