Evaluating Results
This self-assessment is a measure is based on ‘trait’ emotional intelligence. It is a self-perceived
measure, which means it reflects your assessment of your own general emotional intelligence.
How we use emotional intelligence varies based on the context, so your demonstrated EI and
levels of EI in a group meeting or other specific situation may differ from these results.
A typical mean score is around 124.
Total score range from 33 to 110:
A score in this range suggests you have opportunities to work on developing your emotional
intelligence. Perhaps you find it hard to stay calm in stressful situations or avoid conflict

stressed. You may be puzzled by the emotional reactions of others or find it difficult to
empathize with them, possibly also struggling to build strong relationships.
Emotional intelligence can be enhanced, with intentionality and focus. You can choose to
improve your emotional intelligence. Review the suggested resources and set small goals for
yourself to grow your EI skills.

managing your emotions effectively even in highly stressful situations. You can use emotion to
solve problems and you are very accurate in perceiving emotion in others, both nonverbal and
verbal communications of emotion. You leverage your expertise in EI to help others grow their
EI skills, such as helping them improve their accuracy in identifying emotions in themselves and
