Tackling a Crisis Head-on

Go to The Wall Street Journal using the link in the course menu and find an article about a crisis that occurred at an organization in the last year. The organization could be in any sector and can be for-profit or not-for-profit.

Considering the course materials for this week, respond to the following:

• Describe the crisis faced by the organization and post a link to the article.
• What communication tactics did the organization use to address the crisis?
• Refer to both Jack’s and Warren’s guidance for dealing with crises.

To what extent was the organization’s crisis communication plan effective? If you were a senior leader in the organization, would you have responded differently? Explain.your team; and any business, large or small, at some time, will have to respond to a crisis that is affecting the organization.  This week we will be discussing Crisis Communication and beginning our work on Assignment 2 due in Week 6’s Strategic Communication unit. Assignment 2 builds on the research you do in this week’s DQ. For our DQ this week, start by finding an article in the Wall Street Journal about a crisis that occurred at an organization/company in the last year. How to Find Your Crisis: If there isn’t a particular crisis that you know you want to look up in the Wall Street Journal how can you find a company to research? There are a few options.
